Yannis Lives and works in London. He brings 20 years of experience primarily in the fields of structured lending, debt restructuring, private-equity led M&A and corporate re-organization transactions and risk management.

Since 2016, Ioannis has been providing underwriting services to institutional investors on the acquisition of Greek corporate and loan portfolios, special situation corporate restructurings and raising financing from Greek financial institutions. Among other projects, Ioannis successfully advised Elliott and Centrebridge on the successful acquisition of a distressed loan portfolio from NBG. Further, he acted as exclusive financial advisor to Metropolitan Hospital, Hellenic Healthcare and CVC Capital to acquire 3 hospitals groups in Greece with a combined value of € 700 mil, as well as raising financing from Greek Banks for the recapitalization of the Group.

As Assistant General Manager of the Task Force Merchant Bank division of Piraeus Bank between 2014-2016, was responsible for project managing major debt restructurings specializing in the Industrial, Transport, Hotel, Healthcare and F&B sectors.  Served as the Head of Corporate Finance & Investment Banking for Marfin Popular Bank between 2010 to 2014.

Prior to that, spent almost 10 years at Dresdner Kleinwort (now Commerzbank) in London as a Director in Strategic Advisory, Director in the Financial Sponsors & Leveraged Finance group and Deputy Head of the Securitization and Structured Finance Credit Risk Management division.  In that capacity he raised several billion euros for financing for institutional investors.

Started his career at Barclays Bank plc in the UK where he completed the Management Development Program. Between 2000 and 2001, was a senior Associate in the Telecoms & Media Debt Financing team of Barclays Capital in San Francisco.
